What are the expectations of Thane real estate investors?

Thane located in near Mumbai in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region is an attractive real estate destination in Maharashtra. Due to its close proximity to Mumbai, Thane area has as many as 35 Lakes in its geographical surroundings. Thane with its large industrial base has been slowly gaining momentum as a preferred real estate destination in Maharashtra. Considering that many new people are looking at Thane as their preferred real state destination, the city has some issues which when corrected can make Thane's real estate sector bloom. Here is a look at five such realties expectations that real estate investors who bought flats in Thane seek as their wish list for the city’s development.

1: End of Toll Booths: Thane is notorious for toll booths also commonly known as Tool Nakas in local language. If you are driving from Thane to Mumbai you will have to shell out anywhere between Rs. 1200 to Rs. 1500 per month. From the Kharegaon toll booth on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway to the Modella toll naka on LBS Road and Dahisar toll naka on Western Express Highway, residents of Thane seek removal of everyday commuting burden. While Toll booths may be a political issue, unless toll booths issue gets resolved Thane real estate prices may never reach their true potential.

2: Ample Parking Space: If you make a wish list of any city in India the one thing that is likely to be common as a demand from residents would be ample parking space. Thane is no different and residents of Thane often complain about lack of ample parking space in the city. While vehicle count has more than tripled in the last decade, Thane municipal authorities have not been able to build parking spaces for the rising vehicles. Pay and park facilities also are caught in political crossfire leaving the residents a helpless lot.

3: End to Encroachment: The footpaths in Thane have been encroached by many local vendors making it difficult for pedestrians to walk. The lack of proper footpaths also acts as a dampener for real estate prices as outside the posh township the footpaths are encroached by roadside vendors or garbage dumps. The residents of such localities especially the older citizens are unable to walk on the designated footpaths making them vulnerable to being hit by the traffic on the roads.

4: Parks for Elders: There is a lack of space for the elders in Thane and residents seek parks where children and senior citizens can spend their time in the morning and evenings. Thane has just four Nana-Nani parks while the proposed senior citizen complex in Dokali is only on paper. Lack of choices for senior citizens is a dampener for Thane's real estate sector.

5: Improved Road Connectivity: No proper road connectivity from Kalyan to Thane is a major issue that has remained unresolved for a long time.  In case the trains don’t run, residents of Thane find it difficult to reach Kalyan owing to bad roads making it a damper for residents living in Thane city.
